“Self-esteem is the belief or evaluation a person makes of themselves. If we place a low or insignificant value on ourselves then we greatly reduce our self-esteem.”

Self-esteem can be broadly described as a person’s overall sense of self-worth or personal value; in other words, how much you appreciate and like yourself, and value your achievements. Everybody has moments of low confidence, but people with low self-esteem are unhappy or dissatisfied with themselves most of the time.
Extreme self-criticism and negative self-talk, inability to accept compliments, believing that others are better than you, downplaying your own positive qualities, ignoring your own achievements or attributing them to luck, or defaulting to self-blame instead of taking into account external circumstances, are some of the low self-esteem characteristics.
It is our distorted belief system that changes the way in which we feel about ourselves. Such unkind and skewed belief system has often its origins in our early life and altering it for it to reflect truer and more realistic person’s value can be achieved with therapy.
We provide treatment options for people suffering with low self-esteem. We work with them over a period of time to link negative self-view to the historical origins, change their negative self-talk and thought patterns and enhance their views and thoughts of themselves.
We work side-by-side with our patients to guide them through their treatment and encourage positive changes in their thinking and behavioural patterns. If you or someone that you know is suffering with low self-esteem call us today to find out how our treatment options can help.
